Here's a hint: if your My Self Summary section sounds eerily similar to a cover letter you might just want to rethink it.
Though law school made me very pragmatic, analytical, and resourceful, at the core I am still very curious, optimistic, and playful. I was not satisfied with ordinary legal work, and so I'm starting a master's degree in the field of urban land use and environmental planning. Good fortune gave me lots of interesting perspectives on policy and politics; I've been involved in managing a university and an election campaign, writing legislation on good government and the environment, studying in Ireland and Poland, and consulting for a variety of Alaska Native and Native American, women, minority, and veteran-owned small businesses. It is not out of zeal or naiveté that I believe government allows people to do wonderfully constructive things for one another.
I don't want to hire you either.
